Product Overview
An Inverted retaining rings is a variation of axially assembled rings in which the lug holes are inverted to fit in the bottom of the groove. Inverting the lugs allows greater clearance on a shaft or in a housing and forms a higher uniform shoulder good for retaining bearings and other components with large corner radii or chamfers. Retaining Ring HOI-137ST Z3x functions like an HO ring in a housing/bore, only the lugs are reversed. This version reduces the distance the lugs of the standard HO extend into the inner circumference of the housing/bore and allows for another assembly to pass through unimpeded. This part is done of stainless steel material. The manufacturing process helps to achieve good product consistency. Stainless steels are iron-based alloys, which contains the minimum of chromium around 10.5%. The presence of chromium offers corrosive resistance to stainless steel and helps to resist scaling at elevated temperature. Stainless steel also maintains the excellent toughness.
